Joel Bus Routes        Eliot/Pierson Bus Routes        Morgan Bus Routes

Please note that route times are approximate.  Times may vary due to many factors, including weather and road conditions.

General Information

bullet

Bus stops and bus routes are established to assist eligible students to be transported to and from schools using designated area stops.

bullet

School buses only operate on roads that are properly maintained and considered safe and appropriate for school bus travel, excluding private roads and roads not currently accepted by The Town of Clinton.

bullet

Bus stops are not established for the purpose of delivering students to their individual residences but are designed as area stops for the various neighborhoods throughout the community.

bullet

Exceptions to established bus stops and/or bus routes can be made for certain circumstances and challenges faced by special education students.  All such exceptions must be approved through the Business Administrator's Office at 860-664-6506.

bullet

During the first several weeks of school, routes and times may be adjusted to assure timely arrival at schools.

Parent Responsibilities

bullet

Parents are responsible for selecting their children's walking routes to and from bus stops, the school (as applicable for age groups), and residence.

bullet

Parents are responsible for providing supervision that is appropriate to the student' age, the student's maturity, and conditions at the bus stop.

bullet

Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children until they board the bus, after which the Board of Education assumes supervisory responsibility.  In the afternoon, parents assume supervisory responsibility when students get off the bus.

bullet

Parents are responsible for assisting in the school district's efforts to monitor safe driving of school buses; therefore parents should report all incidents of observed school bus speeding, reckless driving, and inappropriate behavior of bus drivers and/or support staff.

bullet

Parents are responsible for making certain that their children arrive at the bus stop "on time" and within the approved timeframe for school bus pick ups for the morning bus routes.  Bus pick up times may vary by several minutes.

bullet

Parents are responsible for notifying the school in writing of the need to remove a student from a bus stop pick up or drop off.
